AIDSO Demands Necessary Protective Measures to Accommodate all Aspirants in AIIMS PG Entrance Examination

All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) demands to take necessary protective measures to accommodate all candidates in AIIMS Entrance Examination or defer the schedule till normalization of the situation.

Sourav Ghosh, the general Secretary of AIDSO has said in a press statement that ‘AIIMS Postgraduate Entrance Examination for MD/MS/DM (6 years)/M.Ch. (6 years)/MDS – July 2020 Session’ is going to be held on 11 June 2020. We are astonished to see that AIIMS has made it mandatory for the candidates to submit a declaration that they are neither in close contact with COVID-19 cases nor are under Quarantine. The AIDSO opines that this will create discrimination between the candidates who are working in COVID units risking their lives and those who are not treating COVID patients. This is nothing but eliminating the junior doctors who are fighting heart and soul in COVID wards across the country on one hand and on the other hand, discouraging the aspiring doctors from serving the patients in COVID-19 pandemic or such warlike situation in the future. We think that this discriminatory process is unethical and it violates natural justice. Not only that, but it will also destroy the conception of medical ethics.

In this critical situation, we demand that either the examining authority would take necessary protective measures to accommodate all the aspirant candidates, especially for the warriors in COVID pandemic; if necessary, even increase the no of well-equipped examination centres. Pending these measures & arrangements, the examinations should be deferred until the settlement of Corona Pandemic.
